Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans

Zaanse Schans – Amsterdam by Train:

The way from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans might seem complicated, but it doesn’t have to be if you follow these tips!
The Zaanse Schans area is on just a 15 minute train ride from Amsterdam. The easiest way to get to us, is with a train from the Central station in Amsterdam. Trains to the Zaanse Schans run every 30 minutes. Take the sprinter to Uitgeest (usually leaving from platform 7a) and get out at the station: “Zaanse Schans”.

From there it is about a 15 minute walk to the windmills and the jetty. For a detailed link of the walk:

Now this might seem like a long walk, but there are thousands of people walking this path on a daily base and that there are signs everywhere. So you can’t really go to wrong and you might even make some new friends on the way.

Zaanse Schans – Amsterdam by Bus:

To get to the Zaanse Schans by bus, just take bus 391 from Amsterdam Central station and get out at the station “Zaanse Schans”. You will pretty much immediately be at the right spot.

Zaanse Schans – getting there by Car:

If you are traveling from Amsterdam to the  by car, just type in Schansend 7, Zaandam. This will bring you to the parking lot and, which is also more or less the entrance of the park.

Zaanse Schans – getting there by Bike:

It is possible to bike from Amsterdam to the Zaanse Schans, but we would not recommend this option if you are in a rush or not experienced with biking. This journey might take a while, but can also be a nice way to check out the scenery. Please type in Schansend 7, Zaandam in your gps and Google Maps will provide you with a perfect description on how to get to us!
