Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans by Train:

 

The way from Amsterdam to the Zaanse Schans Windmills might seem complicated, but it doesn’t have to be if you follow these tips!

The Zaanse Schans Windmill area is on just a 15 minute train ride from Amsterdam. The easiest way to get to us, is with a train from the Central station in Amsterdam. Trains to the station “Zaanse Schans” run every 30 minutes. Take the sprinter to Uitgeest (usually leaving from platform 7a) and get out at the station: “Zaanse Schans”.

From there it is about a 15 minute walk to the windmills and the jetty. 

Now this might seem like a long walk, but there are thousands of people walking this path on a daily base and that there are signs everywhere. So you can’t really go to wrong and you might even make some new friends on the way.

Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans by Bus:

To get to the Zaanse Schans Windmills by bus, just take bus 391 from Amsterdam Central station and get out at the station “Zaanse Schans”. You will pretty much immediately be at the right spot.’

If you are traveling from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans by car, just click the link below for the Google maps link. This will bring you to the parking lot and, which is also more or less the entrance of the park.

Zaanse Schans Parking:

The easiest way is to park at the Zaanse Schans is to use the official parking of the Zaanse Schans, there is usually place over here. From here its a 5 minute walk to the dock with our boats!

In case that this Zaanse Schans parking is full, there are some alternative parking spots. There are usually spots to find in the street from the the link below. We however do not have information if this a private parking or not. Parking here is at your own risk and we can not be hold liable in any way for any difficulties as result of parking here.

Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans by bike:

It is possible to bike from Amsterdam to Zaanse Schans, but we would not recommend this option if you are in a rush or not experienced with biking. This journey might take a while, but can also be a nice way to check out the scenery. Please type in Schansend 7, Zaandam in your gps and Google Maps will provide you with a perfect description on how to get to us!

FAQ: Frequently asked questions

How much does the tour cost?:

Public tours start at €12.50 per person and Private tour at €127,- per hour, regardless the head count. (maximum of 12p.)
 All taxes are included in these prices!

How often do your tours run/what about the weather?

As we all know, the Dutch weather can be unpredictable! Although, in summertime there are plenty of amazing sunny days which are perfect for boat rides.
Since we are devoted to providing the best experience possible for you, our boat is open. In this way you can fully experience the sun and a nice summer breeze. Due to our open boat, we only operate on days with zero to little rain.
So please consider that these times can differ from reality due to weather conditions. Although we try our best to be as punctual as possible with running from
May till October, every day from 10:00 – 18:00!

 

What if I booked a tour in advance and it’s pouring rain?

Don’t worry, we got you!
If you have bought any tickets in advance from us or one of our partners and the weather turns out to be bad, we will give you a 100% refund. Just email us at ahoy@dutchboattours.nl, and we will refund you.
 Since private tours take a bit more preparation every private tour can be cancelled for free 24 hours in advance. If cancelled 48 hours in advance, we will refund you the full 100% of the tour.

Who is this tour for/which languages do you operate in?

We from Dutch Boat Tours love all kinds of people.
Everybody no matter what race, age, or sexuality is welcome on our tour.
Our skippers tailor the tour to the group, so no worries about your kids, grandma’s or whoever, everybody is safe on our tour!
Our tours operate in English and Dutch, although we are exploring the options of doing tours in other languages. Got a special language request?
