🚆 By Train
The Zaanse Schans is only 15 minutes by train from Amsterdam Central Station. Just follow these steps:
Take the Sprinter train to Uitgeest, which typically departs from platform 7a.
Get off at the “Zaandijk Zaanse Schans” station (not just “Zaanse Schans”).
From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to the windmills and our boat dock.
Pro tip: The walk is straightforward with plenty of signs, and you’ll likely share the path with many fellow travelers. You might even make a few new friends on the way!

🚌 By Bus
An even easier option: take bus 391 from Amsterdam Central Station.
Get off at the “Zaanse Schans” bus stop.
You’ll arrive right next to the windmill park—no walking required!

Feeling adventurous? Biking to Zaanse Schans can be a lovely way to enjoy the Dutch countryside.
The trip takes about an hour depending on your pace and experience.
We don’t recommend this option if you’re short on time or not confident on Dutch roads.

📍 Where are you located?
We are located at the Zaanse Schans, just 20 minutes from Amsterdam. Our boats depart from the main dock near the toilets and Cacao Lab.

🚗 Is there parking available?
Yes, there is ample paid parking at the main Zaanse Schans parking area. It’s a short and scenic walk to the boat departure point.

🐶 Can I bring my dog?
Yes! Dogs are welcome on our boats, as long as other guests are fine with it! (Which is 99/100 times no problem at all!)
🧑🦽 Are your tours suitable for guests with limited mobility?
We do our best to accommodate everyone. Guests must be able to take two small steps down into the boat. Our skipper will assist you if needed. We host immobile guests every day and 99/100 Guests make it in the boat without problems, however it is hard to give guarantees on this matter.
🧒 Are children allowed?
Yes! We welcome families with children. Life jackets are available for little ones. Please keep an eye on children at all times.
👶 Can I bring a stroller or pram?
Space on board is limited, so large strollers are best left at the dock and are safe with our staff. Small foldable strollers may be allowed if space permits.
⏱️ How long is the boat tour?
Our standard public cruise lasts 25 minutes. Private tours can range from 1 Hour to 4 Hours or longer upon request.
🎟️ Do I need to book in advance?
We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time slot, especially on weekends and during peak seasons. Walk-ins are welcome when space is available.
💳 What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payments. You can also book online through our website or via GetYourGuide.
🌦️ What happens if it rains?
As we all know, the Dutch weather can be unpredictable! Although, in summertime there are plenty of amazing sunny days which are perfect for boat rides.
Depending on the boat, we do have covers or not. We always try to rebook your tour on a covered boat and make the best out of the situation. Although understand that not every group size yet can be fully covered-

Absolutely. We offer private tours for groups. Ideal for birthdays, company outings, and school trips. Contact us for custom arrangements.
🧑✈️ Who drives the boat?
All public and private cruises include a skipper who navigates and provides insights about the area. Self-drive boat rental is also available.
🛟 Is it safe? Are there life jackets?
Yes. We follow strict safety standards. Life jackets are available for all ages and are required for children.
🗣️ What languages do you speak?
Our skippers speak English and Dutch. Some can also assist in German, French, or Spanish depending on availability.
🛳️ What will we see during the tour?
You’ll pass by historic windmills, traditional houses, Chocolate Factories, and beautiful natural views. It’s a relaxing and informative experience.
🕐 When do the tours run?
Our tours operate daily from 10:00 to 18:00 in spring, summer, and early autumn. Hours may vary in winter — check our website for current times.
