How often do your tours run/what about the weather?
As we all know, the Dutch weather can be unpredictable! Although, in summertime there are plenty of amazing sunny days which are perfect for boat rides. Since we are devoted to providing the best experience possible for you, our boat is open. In this way you can fully experience the sun and a nice summer breeze. Due to our open boat, we only operate on days with zero to little rain. So please consider that these times can differ from reality due to weather conditions. Although we try our best to be as punctual as possible with running from May till October, every day from 10:00 – 18:00!
What if I booked a tour in advance and it’s pouring rain?

If you have bought any tickets in advance from us or one of our partners and the weather turns out to be bad, we will give you a 100% refund. Just email us at ahoy@dutchboattours.nl, and we will refund you.

What is the pick-up point and how do I get there?
Our pick-up point is the main jetty at the Zaanse Windmills . Once you enter the Zaanse Windmill Park, this can’t really be missed. There are several transport options on how to come to the Zaanse Windmills, including train, bus, car and bike. A detailed description on how to get to us with different options of transport can be found down here:
Getting to station Zaanse Schans by Train:
The Station “Zaanse Schans” is on just a 15 minute train ride from Amsterdam. The easiest way to get to us, is with a train from the Central station in Amsterdam. Trains to the Station Zaanse Schans run every 30 minutes. Take the sprinter to Uitgeest (usually leaving from platform 7a) and get out at the station: “Zaanse Schans”. From there it is about a 15 minute walk to the windmills and the jetty. For a detailed link of the walk: https://goo.gl/maps/HqFkbSbiZV12. Now this might seem like a long walk, but there are thousands of people walking this path on a daily base and that there are signs everywhere. So you can’t really go to wrong and you might even make some new friends on the way.
Getting to the station "Zaanse Schans" by Bus:
Bus: Take bus 391 from Amsterdam Central station and get out at the station “Zaanse Schans”. You will pretty much immediately be at the right spot. Just walk towards the water and the main jetty will soonly show himself! There we are!
Getting to Station "Zaanse Schans" by Car:
If you are travelling by car, just type in Schansend 7, Zaandam. This will bring you to the parking lot and, which is also more or less the entrance of the park. From here proceed to the main jetty and say Hi to us!
Getting to Station "Zaanse Schans" by Bike
It is possible to bike from Amsterdam to station “Zaanse Schans”, but we would not recommend this option if you are in a rush or not experienced with biking. This journey might take a while, but can also be a nice way to check out the scenery. Please type in Schansend 7, Zaandam in your gps and Google Maps will provide you with a perfect description on how to get to us!
